Second round 2006 / 8 exit to Belgium First / 8 exit to Information (in German-Belgian border near Aachen) was found in 2005 very popular and all passengers fallen. Not the coils down many kilometers but discover and experience of eastern Belgium was at the forefront, and so it should be this year for the second / 8 exit to be. The destination this time was west of Liege, so that we from our first meeting in Aachen, a good three-quarter hour motorway went. Also present were seven / 8 (Chris - 280, Felix - 200D, Martin - 250CE, Michael - 220D, Martin - 200D, Volker - 240D and the red / 8).
It was then west of Liege at Amay down from the highway, and then small and very small streets across the country. The first stop on
Jehay Chateau, a beautiful castle, idyllically situated, with interesting architectural details.
From there, Amay on the Meuse valley through the forest to Allestree and up to
Huy (Liège), a small and ancient town of about 20,000 inhabitants, an important and Kirchee a fort high above the city. Here was lots of activity, a festival just started and the Belgians enjoyed with a glass of wine. So once ran through the town and looked at the market square.
Huy we then leave in the direction Modave, on the way the church in the Arcelor steel plant at least admired from the outside and then in Modave a chip shop visited (10 large fries and a small one). From there it was not far to the Chateau
Modave . Here, too, visiting the castle from the outside and the vast, beautiful and well kept garden.
From Modave led to the exit Durbuy
(Province of Luxembourg, with irrem beaten track amidst otherwise calmest area) and
Ouffet after
Anthisnes . There, a very old tower, which houses a regional history museum
accommodated. In glorious weather took a cup of coffee and a little toe into the museum.
then continued through the forest on Aywalle to the destination point of the round, after
Spa .
all satisfied, driver, passenger cars, and happy, eating good frit, seen a lot, working condition. So be it.
